The Housing Authority, on behalf of the Mental Health Commission, sought to deliver a new 11 bed community-based mental health facility in Bunbury.

The purpose of the facility is to provide a step up/step down model of service. This model and the facility design aimed to prevent or reduce hospital admissions by providing an alternative community-based service. Establishment of this community step up/step down service helps individuals to remain in the community and access support closer to where they live. The building enables the provision of time-limited residential care services which involve psychosocial and clinical support.
