Overview

WA’s leading computing innovation company, DUG Technologies, engaged SPH to design their new High Performance Computing precinct in WA’s midwest.  The project intended to service the high security and massive data processing needs of the square kilometre array nearby, aiming to develop a campus of high density computing that would provide an excess of 65MW of computing power -  50 times larger than Australia’s largest supercomputer, and the largest in the world by 2-3 times.   SPH developed a design that drew inspiration from movie studios, aligning 10 super computing halls along a series of boulevards, each individually secured for their unique clients. The site also required onsite power generation with a proposed 20MW solar farm and onsite Hydrogen Turbine to power the massive computing demand. The site’s unique function and massive services demands made for a highly technical and innovative project.
