SPH Architecture + Interiors were engaged to deliver a new dental clinic located on the fifth floor of Fremantle Hospital’s B Block, for operator Dental Health Services.

This project represented an opportunity to address operational problems identified at other Dental Health Services Clinics, and to overcome the site’s constraint’s / challenges, which included:

• Working within an operational hospital; and
• Latent conditions and hazardous materials in the form of asbestos.

Despite these challenges to the design and construction process, the resulting new clinic was delivered on time and on budget.

It comprises two laboratories and integrated planning for office and patient areas, as well as treatment rooms and a medical records room.

With a remit to improve the health of Western Australians through access to quality oral health services, this new clinic provides a safe and welcoming setting for patients of all ages.
