The Gudai-Darri Wet Mess project involved refurbishment of internal and external tavern areas plus bathrooms and was focused on delivering maximum impact for residents whilst minimizing impact to existing building infrastructure. The design proposal was well informed by client and stakeholder vision workshops, EY analysis/survey reports and architectural condition reports commissioned by SPH. The existing 'open beer barn' style of tavern gave way to more deliberate zoning, contemporary furniture typologies and passive visual separation promoting more inclusion and diversity of experience.
